City of youth par excellence by the presence of many universities and higher schools, LA GARDE (VAr, France) is proud to have been selected among international cities such as Sao Paulo in Brazil, Regina in Canada and Puerto Rico, to accomodate in the Gymnasium Guy Mocquet 2 the 25th Juniors World Championship and the 7th Sub-juniors World Championship of Powerlifting by the September 4 to 8,2007.
Medieval city, famous for its volcanic rock a 82 m height on which draws up its vault proudly, LA GARDE is located at 6 km of Toulon, 70 km St-Tropez and with 5 km of the Mediterranean.
12 hectares of forest solid mass in full heart of the city,
100 hectares of fauna and flora rare and protected and a panorama on 360°
from the Coudon Mount in the Mediterranean are offered to the sight of the
visitor.
Thanks
to its small fishing port of San Peire, with its beach protected by the
splits and an access limited by its cycle track, at its market of Provence
three times by its week, you will find all savours and the odors of Provence.
With the assistance of the House of Tourism of LA GARDE,
you will be able to also benefit from the guided tours to explore this city
of character and to leave “to discovered the old village.”
From April at December, you will live at the rate/rhythm of the many appointments
which the city proposes to you. Festivals estival, musical, artisanal, medieval,
sporting, gustatory, cultural and traditional, you will have only the embarrassment
of the choice.
Refitted in 2000, the Gymnasium Guy Mocquet 2 accomodates
in week and weekend of many sports activities.
In 2003, it accomodated the Junior France Championships of Powerlifting
and in 2005 the France Championships of Bench press.
It is however the first time that it will have the privilege to receive
in its buildings a Championship of the World
